Thank you, Tim!

I was shocked to see the news about Tim Bass. Tim, along wih the Fike brothers, cheered me up the first summer at Harding, then he was nice enough to invite me to be his roommate in Armstrong, thus shaping my Harding life in a very powerful way. The whole Knights and Pattie Cobb cafeteria routine was the basis for my becoming even halfway sociable at Harding, as opposed to my total introvert nature and high school social nightmare.

I am not sure if I ever said thank you to Tim. Glad it is not too late. Sandy and I know a little about the whole hospital routine. So hang in there. Sometimes that is all you can do.

Tim, Thank you !!!!
We will definitely be praying.

Tim Bass very ill, Please Pray!

Tim Bass, my old Harding roommate:

As reported by Ann’s mother:

Tim Bass is much worse and is quite weak in his more than two-years’ struggle with bladder cancer. His body keeps filling with fluid and, twice a week for several weeks, he has been having 6 to 8 liters of fluid removed from his abdomen. He and Anne saw a surgeon in Baltimore yesterday as one of several oncologist surgeons who have been recommended as being able to insert one or more pegs into Tim’s abdomen that will enable tubes continuously to remove the fluid, thereby increasing his ability to eat and retain food. That recommended remedy should cause more protein to enter his blood stream and eliminate his digestive problems, which have kept him from eating enough. One blessing is that the cancer remains in his lymph system only.

It’s sad to see Tim, such a normally strong man, holding his head to the side in weakness and to hear the weakness in his voice and see the paleness in his face plus the strain of all of this on Anne.

She has been searching for and using all places, doctors, foods, herbs, and every other kind of possible help for and with Tim. A large group of people from church came last week and did a lot of much-needed yard work here and we all held hands while a wonderful, long prayer was said for Tim and all of us.
